I am Denis Everett Jensen. I have had the honour of custodian of some of the artifacts of the crew of Ship 719. My father, James Everett Jensen, was a crew leader for the repair of the radios on the aircraft ravaged by the the war at Hill Field in Layton, Utah during the War Years. He and my mother, Dona Poole Jensen, who worked at the base as a cashier at the commissary, both served their country honourably as many Americans did during this time that tried mens souls.
This Document is dedicated to The crew of the "HELLZAPOPPIN", to all Veterans of WW2, living or dead, to the veterans of all other wars, Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm and my mother and Father and citizens like them, to whom we the citizens of this great country owe our present comforts and circumstances to as a direct result of their sacrifices. And in the hope that anyone who recognizes any of the crew pictured in this document would contact me with current information to update this page and to celebrate the honour of these brave couragious men. And that we will remember!
Here are their contributions. Bob May, the actor who portrayed the robot in the television series Lost In Space, and a Veteran, sent a tribute to his grandfather who served during WW2.
I would like to thank Stephen Bollich for information about HELLZAPOPPIN Ship #322 which served with honour in the European theater of World War2.
Greg Harrison is the membership secretary of The Bomber Command Historical Society he says several British Lancaster bombers were also named HELLZAPOPPIN. The courageous men of The Royal Air Force will NEVER take second in courage and bravery in any conflict, whether it be WW2 or Iraq!
Ray W. Smeltzer responded to this webpage with some information that has finally given some personality to the photo above. I must apologize to him for taking so long to thank him and to publish is contribution. Thank you Ray. The text of his email is below. Harold Lincoln's Father flew with at least one of the flyers in the picture of the crew above.
John Dienst is the Curator of the Stillwater Airport Memorial Museum Association who has pieces of the "719" on display. Read his interesting email below.
