Corporate History
Global Technologies, Incorporated (GTI) secured its first contract to support Department of Energy's (DOE) Richland Operations Office in 1994. GTI has provided engineering support to the Tank Waste Remediation Program in Hanford, Washington. GTI was selected by a high-tech California company to participate in a joint venture to develop unique fiber optic equipment. Upon reaching the first anniversary of business, GTI had secured six different contracts. This accomplishment encouraged GTI to seek SBA certification as an 8(a), minority-owned company. During the two-year exemption period, GTI responded to a U.S. Navy Broad Agency Announcement. GTI was chosen over twenty-four other technology companies, which responded to the announcement, to be the prime contractor to develop a special engineering system. The achievement of gaining 8(a) status was accomplished in 1995. GTI continued its growth with a multi-million dollar contract to the Babcock and Wilcox Hanford Company for extensive technical and administrative support at the Plutonium Finishing Plant (PFP). GTI was awarded a major Technical and Analytical Support Services Contract for the Office of Environmental Management (EM) of the Department of Energy. Although efforts take place at DOE Headquarters in Washington, D.C., much of this EM support is focused on accelerated cleanup of the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site in Colorado. More recently, GTI submitted the highest rated proposal for providing Advisory and Assistance Support Services for DOE’s Idaho Operations Office, and GTI has been awarded several Task Orders under this contract. In and throughout its existence, GTI has aggressively pursued worldwide opportunities for cooperative development, implementation of environmental and energy-related technologies, most prominently in Russia. GTI continues to promote teaming arrangements with national and foreign firms to apply the best solutions to technological problems, wherever they may occur. The highly qualified and competent staff of GTI has the advanced technical knowledge needed to support the Department of Energy, Department of Defense (DOD), and their contractors. GTI is actively diversifying the skill mix of its staff and broadening their experience levels to support other federal agencies and private industry. In nurturing scientific and technical ideas, GTI has the capability to turn these ideas into marketable products through testing and demonstration. One of the goals of this company is to initiate the utilization of new ideas and technologies through collaboration and teaming arrangements with qualified partners. |
