From “800 Missouri Families”, he served 1756-1828 in the 8th Pa. Regt. Continental Line; Committee of Observation, 1775; 1st Lt. Militia, 1777, of Frederick County, Md; Interpreter for Washington, Battle of Trenton. He emigrated to Kentucky in 1795 and to St. Louis, Missouri, in 1809 and to Boone’s Lick Area ( Mo.) In 1811. He lived in Ft. Kincaid during War of 1812. He and son, Nicholas, operated “ Burckhartt Lick”, in Howard County, Mo. He recorded in German in the family bible the family data. His will, written in St. Louis County, Mo., is 1828, was presented in probate court by his son, Nicholas S. Burckhartt in Howard County, Mo., in 1829 and was recorded in 1840.

Christopher (2) Frederick Burckhartt ( George (1)) was born 19 Dec !756 in Frederick County, Md, and died 14 Oct 1827 in Howard County, Missouri. He married Elizabeth Hobbs 16 Nov 1780 in Frederick County, Md., daughter of Joshua Hobbs and Margaret Sellman. Elizabeth was born 31 Dec 1765 in Frederick County, Md. She died in 1840 in Missouri and buried in Drake Cemetery, Howard County, Missouri. Marriage license for Christopher and Elizabeth was issued 21 Oct 1780 in Frederick County, Md. To “ Elizabeth Hobbs and Christopher Burkill”.

My William is the same William Jones who raised his neice, Martha Paine Jones daughter of Isaac Jones, (who married Daniel Stillwell Thomas)
Martha P. Jones says in her person history,
"I was partially raised by my Uncle William Jones who married Polly Haw"
