Llama guards are excellent for farm flocks. Llamas have a special bond to young! In the second picture, a llama guard nuzzles baby angora goats as a milk goat looks on.

Llamas also guard hundreds of sheep effectively! In the right picture, a llama protects a herd of milk goats.

Guard llamas really take control of the flock and the sheep learn to depend upon the llama. Here a big gelding guard leads the sheep to another part of the pasture. In the picture on the right, a llama guards about 250 cashmere gelding goats. The goats belong to one of the largest cashmere goat producer in the United States, located near Dillon, Montana. They have several different pastures of goats guarded by individual llamas.
