I would
like to thank Karen Wales for letting me have Rebel. I
ally had to talk her into letting me buy Rebel. I have always wanted a
buckskin stallion. He is also 1/2 brother to Karen's HOF Filly (Westwind
BTU Crown Prince Priceless). They have the same mother. Another plus is that he
is a cousin to Dunner on his sire side. I think he will cross well with
Dunner's foals. I love Dunner's disposition and I think this foal has Dunner's
disposition which mean he
will be able fill Dunner's shoes. I think he will be able to do everything
that Dunner has done.
Rebel really has a whose who in his pedigree. He not only has the same grandsire as Dunner but on his Sire's grandmother side she is a Wittmaacks Mickey Mouse and Boones little Buckeroo great grand daughter.
On his Dams side he has Lazy N Red Boy top and bottom which make his double Rowdy bred. His Grand dam Cross Country Miss Any (HOF) was Nation champion in Own, Bred and Shown. She also HOF in halter. His Grand sire Cross Country Montego Bay was National Champion in Owned Bred and Shown in 2001 and he also HOF in Halter.
He already has 2 points for his HOF in Halter which is good for a foal as young as he was. We hope to show him next year at a few of our local shows just to see how he does. We are very pleased with this little guy. I would love to show him if we have room for him on our show string. I'm sure he will do well.
We gelded Dunner so we will be using Rebel as our herd sire. We will be breeding him to Westwind BTU Crown Prince Mya Dream, Tiny Acres Starlite Dream, Currys BT Buttercup, Tiny Acres BTU Dun in Style. We are really looking forward to see what we get with crossing him with Buttercup who is shetland. We are hoping to get a foal that has great driving ability.
