Sand Creek Boer Ranch

We are Garth & Ruthelda Holm of Sand Creek Boer Ranch in Shelley ID which is just outside of Idaho Falls. Just a little bit to let you know how we got into this business. For years I (Ruthelda) had been saying to my husband (Garth), “Let’s get a goat.” and his answer was always “NO!”. You have to realize that he felt this way because when he got off of work one day there were three dairy goats standing on top of his camper shell on the pickup. Well, he saw an advertisement for “Boer” goats and since we were not familiar with them, we placed a call and then we went to see some at the Bowman Boer Ranch in Twin Falls, Idaho. That did it. We spent three hours looking them over and finally decided on a Full Blood buck named “George Washington” and three half-blood does. Our journey into breeding full bloods and percentage goats began.

Well we did not know that they may have one kid, or they may have up to four kids each kidding season. We have learned a lot since then. We love these animals, they have the neatest personalities and they are very loving.

Some of our blood lines include - Mzuri, Eggs, Renior, JV257 Samson #259, CODI/PCI Jurgen’s Hardrive, DSM Cloud Dancing (Permanent Grand Champion), Kaptein (Ennobled), Kolbors 667R28, Johaan (Ennobled), Shaka Kulu, Gar Aduwa Sasquatch (Ennobled), E.G.G.S. Treme "Ennobled". There are others and we can always look them up for you.

We offer Bucks, Does, Wethers (for meat or whatever), etc. for sale. We have plenty of 2007 (and we will have some brand new 2008) doelings, wethers, and bucklings for sale. Kidding will begin again in November. Contact us at (208) 346-6677 or E-mail us.

These two pups are new residents at the Sand Creek Ranch. They are Mastiff and Anatolian crosses, and are guardians in training. The dark one is Napoleon and the light one is Caesar.
