Spring & Fall
Steehead Fishing Late February through March, and
early October until freeze-up. Steelhead fishing trips by jet boat for any number of
days and size of party. The fish run from 4 to 16 pounds. Comfortable lodge and cabins. We
furnish all but personal effects. Bring your own rod and reel. Some tackle is available at
the lodge. Meet the jetboat at the end of the road at Corn Creek for a
whitewater ride to our lodge 18 miles downriver. Each day we take the boat to a different
stream, tie it up, spend the day fishing, then return to the lodge for a home cooked meal
and a relaxing evening. It is not uncommon for our anglers to catch and release 100 trout
a day; rainbow and westslope cutthroat up to 19 inches. > Records < The opportunity for trout
fishing trips is usually from mid July through early Sept. These are rugged wilderness
creeks, some with no trails. Good physical condition is recommended.
Tackle not provided. Your guide for trout fishing trips is Mel Reingold, of Salmon Idaho. He worked for the Idaho Fish and Game Dept. as a Fishery Biologist for 26 years. He has an intimate knowledge of the Salmon River area and its fish and wildlife. He is a licensed whitewater guide with many years of river running experience.
